Eng. Bandula Karunaratna, Chairman and Managing Director of THERMOTEC Engineering (Pvt) Ltd., is a highly respected leader with over 39 years of expertise in building services engineering, MEP infrastructure, and sustainable energy solutions. His guidance has propelled THERMOTEC Engineering to achieve numerous distinguished awards, including the Construction Excellence Award and LEED Platinum and Gold certifications, underscoring the company’s unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.
Eng. Bandula serves as Overseas Projects in MEP and Treasurer of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka (IESL), and holds memberships with prominent international engineering bodies, including the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE, USA) and the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE, UK). His leadership extends beyond THERMOTEC, having chaired IESL’s Building Services Engineering Sectional Committee in 2011, where he led the initiative to establish the Chartered Building Services Engineer designation in Sri Lanka, setting a milestone for the profession.
His technical expertise covers a broad spectrum of Automobile, MEP solutions, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire systems, coupled with advanced project management capabilities,in proficiency in tools such as BIM, AutoCAD, and MS Project, Project Proposals, Preparation of tender Documents, And Drawing Specification BOQ. Eng. Bandula’s strong academic foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a Post Graduate Diploma, and Master’s level in Building Services Engineering and Energy Management—reinforces his dedication to engineering excellence.
